Transforming Careers in Mental Health for BIPOC

Hispanic Heritage Month Event at Community Counseling and Mediation Services

On October 9th, as part of Hispanic Heritage Month, Community Counseling and Mediation Services in Brooklyn hosted a special staff event titled:
“Unpacking and Reclaiming Racial, Ethnic, and Professional Identities: A Work in Progress.”

This gathering featured a facilitated discussion by Dr. Linda Lausell Bryant grounded in our book “Transforming Careers in Mental Health for BIPOC: Strategies to Promote Healing and Social Change “, which explores how BIPOC professionals make sense of identity, belonging, and resistance within systems of care. The event included a book talk and signing for agency staff, offering space for reflection and connection among practitioners navigating overlapping personal and professional identities.

We are grateful to the staff at CCM for their thoughtful engagement and for creating space for these critical conversations.
